Game Viewing

South Africa / Game Viewing

Diversity across the country, including a number of endemic mammal species, means that most sought after large mammal species occur in good numbers in South Africa.
Game viewing of high profile animals, such as the so-called Big 5, is very good. Relatively small areas are scoured by high densities of land rovers (each in contact with the other on a radio system) to ensure that every day there is a sighting of lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and white rhino. It is a very successful system and with off-road driving and game accustomed to the presence of vehicles photographic opportunities are exceptional. For this reason South Africa is an excellent destination for the first time safari-goer. Other species such as zebra, giraffe, impala, wildebeest and kudu are also regularly seen and the standard of guides and guiding is very high.
Within this framework we select the largest and wildest reserves and concessions with the lowest density of visitors. We don’t compromise on the standard of game viewing and guides but we strive to give our clients the most authentic wildlife experience possible. Tailor making itineraries around specific species, or specific interests (photographic, family, walking) is what we do best and we look forward to helping you arrange a spectacular South African safari.
