Safaris / Zimbabwe
Although in the news for all the wrong reasons in recent years, Zimbabwe still offers a fantastic wildlife experience with premier national parks like Mana Pools and Hwange continuing to provide some of Africa’s best safaris.
Simply put, they are unique and continue to thrive; similarly the town of Victoria Falls adjacent to the world largest waterfall where the Zambezi River tumbles into a precipitous gorge.
These three areas are really the core of the Zimbabwean ecotourism experience and we have travelled all three extensively. Mana Pools along the lower Zambezi River Valley is a World Heritage Site and a spectacular African experience replete with drama, adrenalin and tranquillity. Hwange, home to some of the last great elephant and buffalo herds, offers exceptional dry and wet season game viewing and is a must see destination for several hard-to-see antelope species as well as the more typical big game. And Victoria Falls is Victoria Falls … the seventh natural wonder of the world and a must see destination.
Zimbabwe remains one of our favourite destinations and a highly recommended holiday for those seeking out some of the best game viewing off the current beaten safari track.
